What is a superscope?

Posted by mcsenow on February 15, 2010 in Uncategorized |

A superscope is used in a DHCP server to assign IP addresses from multiple scopes to DHCP clients on a physical network. It contains a list of member scopes that can be activated together. It allows a DHCP server to provide leases from more than one scope to clients on a single physical network. The advantage of creating superscopes is to ease the administration in a multi-netted environment.
